Dr. Richard (Rick) Martorano is executive producer of SuperStars of Central Florida LLC. While attending Hollywood Professional School, Dr. Martorano began his career as a teenager at ABC Television in Hollywood, Calif., working as a rehearsal pianist for “The Lawrence Welk Show.” He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music composition from Florida State University. He earned a master's degree in music education from Rollins College and a doctorate in music and broadcast communications from California Western University. He then completed a post-graduate fellowship at California Institute of the Arts.
As president of Florida-based R. Martorano Productions and Music Etc. Inc., Dr. Martorano and his music production companies have produced community and professional theater performances, including "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Oliver," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Unsinkable Molly Brown," "Sound of Music," "Music Man," "Anything Goes," “The Fortune Teller,” “Mama,” “Man of La Mancha”, “Once Upon a Mattress,” “The King and I,” “Jesus Christ Superstar," “Paint Your Wagon," “The Pajama Game," “Jesus on Broadway," “Remember When” and SuperStars of Volusia.
He has produced concerts featuring stars including Marilyn McCoo, Debbie Reynolds, Kay Starr, Bobby Rydell, Richard Simmons, The Association, Jack LaLanne, Robert Merrill, Louise Mandrell, Kurt Thomas, Art Linkletter, The Lettermen, Four Lads, Four Aces, The Four Freshmen, 4Him, BJ Thomas, Juice Newton, Kay Ballard, George Goble, Steve Green, Wayne Watson and virtually all of the big bands from the ’40s and ’50s. As a professional pianist and singer, he has performed on the Mike Douglas, Ray Anthony and Rosemary Clooney TV shows. He has appeared at the finest supper clubs, hotels and nightclubs in the country. As accompanist and music director, he has worked with Anita Bryant, Mickey Rooney, Jim Backus (Mr. Magoo), Frank Fontaine, Donald O’Connor, The June Taylor Dancers and Gabriel’s Brass at the Contemporary Hotel at Walt Disney World.
He is founding director of the Rick Martorano Singers and the Rick Martorano Concert Jazz Band, an ensemble of 22 singers and 17 instrumental musicians who perform secular, contemporary sacred and pop music in all musical styles. He has served as an adjunct professor in the performing arts, humanities and mass communications at Daytona Beach Community College, Florida State University, Florida Technological University (UCF) and Rollins College. He was director of the Broadcast Communications Program in the Division of Mass Communications at Bethune-Cookman College (now Bethune-Cookman University). He has taught privately throughout his career and has influenced and enhanced the lives of hundreds of students.
Carol Lively Platig serves as a member of the SuperStars of Central Florida advisory committee. She served as vice president of SmithBucklin Corp., the largest association management company in the U.S. with more than 250 clients and, for 11 years, as director of the company’s health care division.
Since moving to Florida, Ms. Platig has enjoyed competitive ballroom dancing and tournament duplicate bridge. Her volunteer activities have included membership in the board of directors of the Metropolitan Bridge Club and Florida International Festival; Seaside Music Theater; trustee for Shimer College, Chicago; president, Symphony Guild of Daytona Beach, 2004-2006; member of the executive committee and board of directors of the Daytona Beach Symphony Society, 2003-2006; president, Daytona Beach Symphony Society, 2007-2009; board of trustees of the Museum of Arts and Sciences; and United Cerebral Palsy/WORC Association. She serves on the Board of Directors of W.I.S.E (Wisdom in Senior Education) for the Daytona College Foundation.
Harvey E. Morse also is a member of the SuperStars of Central Florida advisory committee. Originally from Boston, he relocated to Florida in 1972, currently residing in Daytona Beach. He graduated from Boston University and attended Suffolk University Law School and the Florida Police Academy. His primary vocation is serving as an international expert witness in complex genealogical matters regarding the probating of estates and the location of missing people. He is also a fully sworn law enforcement officer and trainer.
Mr. Morse serves on a multitude of local, national and international boards and is very active in the Volusia County community. He has been a board member of the Halifax River Yacht Club, Museum of Arts and Sciences, Daytona Beach Symphony Society, Florida Board of Certified Investigators, Florida Association of Private Investigators, and Volunteer Law Enforcement Officers Alliance. He also is a past chairman of the Better Business Bureau of all of Central Florida, a Realtor, member of the Florida Police Chiefs Association and International Association of Chiefs of Police, and is affiliated with numerous other charitable and civic organizations. In his spare time, he serves as president of two homeowners associations. His hobbies are photography, electronics, computers, travel and maintaining his reputation as the ultimate gadget guru.

CAROL LIVELY PLATIG serves as an Assistant Producer for SuperStars of Central Florida with the responsibilities for administrative and community relations She served as Vice President of Smith, Bucklin & Associates, Inc. (SBA), the largest association management company in the United States with over 250 clients, and Director, Health Care Division (1985-1996). In addition, she was the Executive Director of the American College of Nuclear Physicians and National Association of Healthcare Access Management from 1979-1996. In her SBA position, in addition to overall management responsibilities, she was directly responsible for over twenty national medical specialty societies and healthcare associations involved in financial management, government liaison, public policy issues, public relations, special events planning, and publications.Prior to joining Smith, Bucklin & Associates, Inc., she served as Manager of the Health Planning Policy Department, American Hospital Association; Assistant Executive Director of the Genesee Region Health Planning Council, Rochester, NY; Director, Berkshire Area Health Project; and Director, College Development, Shimer College, Chicago, Illinois.
Ms. Platig received her degrees from Long Beach Polytechnical Institute, Los Angeles General Hospital School of Nursing, and Long Beach Nursing Institute in California, as well as graduate studies at Columbia University and Boston University School of Social Work. Her awards include Woman of the Year, Massachusetts; Florida Woman (2006); President's Award and Honorary Fellowship, American College of Nuclear Physicians. Since 1980, she has been listed in the World's Who's Who of Women, Who's Who in America, and Who's Who in the East. She is a lecturer, author, instructor, and panelist on association manage-ment and national health planning policy in the United States, as well as South Africa, Haiti, and Greece. Her volunteer time in Washington, D.C., included serving as President of the Black Tie Club, Sulgrave Club, and Lonsdale Court Condominium Association; vice chairman of several committees, including embassy liaison 'with the Diplomatic Community, board member of the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Washington Ballet Women's Committee, and Achievement Rewards for College Scientists.
